Murder inquiry begins after woman in 50s found dead
Laura Foster/BBCA murder investigation has been launched after a woman in her 50s was found dead, police said.
Thames Valley Police was called to a property on East Moor Drive in Wolverton Mill, an area of Milton Keynes, at about 18:00 BST on Sunday.
Officers found the woman deceased at the address.
A 58-year-old man from Milton Keynes has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is in police custody.
'Complex investigation'
Laura Foster/BBCSenior investigating officer Det Ch Insp Sally Spencer, of the Major Crime Unit, said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who has sadly died."
She added: "This is a complex investigation that is still in its early stages, and we are actively pursuing a number of inquiries to understand exactly what has happened."
Police went to the address following reports made to them "around a concern for welfare".
The woman's next of kin have been informed. Formal identification and a post-mortem examination have not yet taken place.
The force said a "scene watch" had been set up on East Moor Drive.
