A fire broke out at a recycling centre sending huge plumes of smoke over an industrial estate.

Nine crews tackled the waste fire at the SUEZ depot in Mannings Heath Road, Poole, Dorset, which was reported at about 12:30 BST.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue used an aerial ladder platform and multiple jets to stop it from spreading.

No casualties have been reported, and the cause is believed to be accidental. By 17:00 the incident was being scaled back to four appliances, and the road reopened.

During the operation residents and businesses were advised to keep doors and windows closed because of the smoke.
