Hull City play-off final kick-off time changed

Hull City are heading to Wembley after beating Millwall in the Championship play-off semi-final.

The Tigers will face Middlesbrough in the final for a chance to join Coventry City and Ipswich Town in the Premier League next season.

The final will kick-off at 15:30 BST on Saturday 23 May, the English Football League (EFL) confirmed on Wednesday.

The match has been surrounded by controversy and uncertainty after Southampton were removed from the final by the EFL after the Saints admitted to spying on three clubs during the Championship season.

At 21:30 on Wednesday, it was announced that Southampton had lost its appeal against the sanction.

Hull City have been allocated 35,984 tickets on the east side of Wembley Stadium for the clash, with supporters located in seats from the north stand round to the south stand.

On Monday, the club announced it had been given an extra 2,000 tickets by the English Football League due to "extra high demand from supporters".

For those looking for a good omen, it is the same side of the stadium where Tigers fans saw their side win the previous Championship play-off finals in 2008 and 2016.

The ticket prices by category are:

• Category 1 - £105 adults, £78.75 young adults aged 17 to 21, and concessions for people aged two to 16 and over-65s priced at £52.50
• Category 2 - £82 adults, £61.50 young adults aged 17 to 21, and concessions for people aged two to 16 and over-65s priced at £41
• Category 3 Seating and Standing Area - £67 adults, £50.25 young adults aged 17 to 21, and concessions for people aged two to 16 and over-65s priced at £33.50
• Category 4 Seating and Standing Area - £54 adults, £40.50 young adults aged 17 to 21, and concessions for people aged two to 16 and over-65s priced at £27
• Category 5 Seating and Standing Area - £37 adults, £27.75 young adults aged 17 to 21, and concessions for people aged two to 16 and over-65s priced at £18.50

The club has confirmed a £3 booking fee will apply to all ticket purchases.

Hospitality packages, which include a three-course meal, are also available via the Wembley Stadium website.

The tickets are on sale now and are available via the club website, over the phone or in person at the MKM Stadium ticket office.

Anyone wanting to buy tickets for the final will need to have been a registered customer with the club on 1 May.

Supporters are able to buy two tickets per customer number with a maximum of six per online transaction.

Hull Trains said it was running an additional service to the capital on the day of the match, as well as providing extra capacity where possible.

The operator advised passengers to travel on Friday 22 May and return on Sunday 24 May to avoid the busiest services, if possible, as tickets for the Saturday were limited.

Hull City's Tiger Travel will be running coaches from the MKM Stadium at a cost of £70 per person.

Several coach operators are also running services, including Acklams Coaches and Coach Innovations, with picks up in Hull, Beverley and Goole.

Anyone travelling by car is advised to only use official stadium car parks and to book early.

Although Southampton qualified for the Championship play-off final, they were removed from the competition on Tuesday following a meeting of an independent disciplinary commission.

The Saints' campaign were charged by the EFL after it emerged they had spied on their semi-final opponents Middlesbrough.

Southampton later admitted to the incident and also allegations they had watched training sessions involving Oxford United and Ipswich Town.

They were also handed a four-point deduction in the Championship for next season.

Hull City made it to the final by beating Millwall 2-0 in the second leg at The Den, with Mo Belloumi and Joe Gelhardt coming off the bench to score the goals.

But rewind to May 2025 and Hull were staring down the barrel of relegation to League One.

Ruben Selles departed, and Sergej Jakirovic was brought in.

The rest, as they say, is history and they now have an opportunity to return to the Premier League for the first time since 2017.
