The Red Arrows are set to perform in Manx skies later despite the gloomy weather that has hit the island in recent days.

The appearance by the Royal Air Force display team, which is due to take place at 19:30 BST over Douglas Bay, is scheduled to coincide with the annual TT races.

TT organisers said weather conditions will "continue to be monitored throughout the day" and "if low cloud remains, the team will adapt the display accordingly".

Large crowds of visiting race fans and residents are set to gather on the promenade in the capital, and on the headlands on either side of the bay in Onchan and Douglas.

The Isle of Man Constabulary said traffic was expected to be "very busy" and have urged those planning to watch the display to "consider parking elsewhere in Douglas and walking to your viewing point".
