Cambridgeshire Police obtained a court order covering Henry Court in Millfield, Peterborough, which will be in place until 14 August.
It covers many of the communal areas around the flats and means access is prohibited to anyone other than lawful tenants and their visitors, landlords and emergency service personnel.
Police said failure to comply with the order was a criminal offence which could result in imprisonment of up to three months, a fine, or both.
Cambs PoliceThe closure order was applied for after frequent reports of anti-social behaviour and drug misuse in the area, police said.
"Since starting my role, this area has been a concern due to the significant impact the actions of those causing the issues are having on the residents," PC Kirsten Hay said.
"I hope this order shows the local community that we remain dedicated to tackling their concerns, and anyone with information about breaches are to report to us so we can take action."
