Firefighters tackle derelict pub blaze for four hours

Firefighters extinguished a blaze at a derelict pub in Essex.

Crews from Loughton, Waltham Abbey and Harlow were sent to the former Princess of Wales pub in Westall Road, Loughton, at 01:54 BST

An aerial ladder platform from Grays and relief crews from Orsett and Brentwood were also deployed. Firefighters left the scene at 06:26.

An investigation will be carried out to establish the cause. Watch manager Gary Dyer said: "I would like to praise crews who worked really hard to extinguish the fire."
