Teens injured after alleged air weapon assault involving group of men

Three teenagers have been injured following an alleged assault involving three men.

Gwent Police said it received a report of an assault in Newport at around 18:45 BST on Friday.

A group of three men - one of whom was believed to be carrying an air weapon - reportedly approached the teenagers, one girl aged 14 and two boys aged 14 and 15, "[in] woodland behind Graham Bell Close", the force said.

The 14-year-old boy later attended hospital for treatment for injuries consistent with a physical assault, and all three teenagers had minor injuries consistent with being struck by air pellets, it added.
