Fourth man charged over city firearms alert

A fourth man has been charged with a firearm offence after reports a gun was fired near a bar in Derby city centre.

Police were called to the rear of the R Lounge in Becket Well Lane at about 02:30 BST on 26 April.

Reuben Branford was charged on Monday with affray, conspiring to possess a firearm with intent to endanger life and possession of a knife in public.

The 31 year old, of Hawthorn Street, Derby appeared at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court on Tuesday where he was remanded to Derby Crown Court on 29 May, police said.

Haroon Ahmed, 37, of Arnold Street, Derby, and Gary Anwar, 37, of Border Crescent, Alvaston, have been charged with conspiring to possess a firearm with intent to endanger life.

Kylan Kelly-Basi, 20, of Park Road, Mickleover, has been charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, and conspiring to possess a firearm with intent to endanger life.

He was also remanded in custody to appear at Derby Crown Court on 29 May.
