A 48-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after an attack on a police station in Lurgan in March.

He has also been charged with attempting to cause an explosion, hijacking and possession of explosives with intent to endanger life or damage property.

Six weeks ago, two masked men, one armed with a gun, hijacked a delivery driver and told him he would be killed if he did not drive a bomb to a police station.

The man will appear at Craigavon Magistrates' Court on Friday 8 May.

On Wednesday a woman was charged with obstructing police by detectives investigating the attack.

Residents of about 100 homes were evacuated at the time of the incident.
