Warning services for areas at risk of flooding are provided for England, Wales and Scotland. BBC Weather works closely with its partners to raise awareness of weather events affecting Northern Ireland. Specific flood warnings, however, are not currently issued for Northern Ireland.

Areas affected:Groundwater flooding in West Ilsley, East Ilsley, Compton, Chilton and West HagbourneActive WarningStarted:10:53 BST Tuesday 14 AprilIssued:10:53 BST Tuesday 14 AprilContinued high groundwater levels may lead to flooding. Flooding of low-lying areas and roads is possible. Groundwater levels are high but slowly declining at our Hodcot borehole affecting West Ilsley, East Ilsley, Compton, Chilton and West Hagbourne. We expect levels to remain high over the next few weeks and levels will remain sensitive to further sustained rainfall. Due to the nature of groundwater flooding, this situation could continue for several weeks or longer. Residents are advised to consider property resilience measures and ensure that pumps are working where they have been installed. Keep up to date with groundwater levels on the 'Get Flood Warnings' site on gov.uk. This message will be updated by 4 PM, on the 21 April 2026, or as the situation changes.

We expect levels to remain high over the next few weeks and levels will remain sensitive to further sustained rainfall. Due to the nature of groundwater flooding, this situation could continue for several weeks or longer. We are closely monitoring rainfall and groundwater levels. Residents are advised to consider property resilience measures and ensure that pumps are working where they have been installed. Flooding of low-lying areas and roads continues to be possible. Due to the nature of groundwater flooding, this situation could continue for several weeks or longer. We are closely monitoring rainfall and groundwater levels. Residents are advised to ensure property resilience measures are prepared and check that pumps are working where they have been installed. Take particular care when driving through flood water both for your own safety and to prevent flooding to others. This message will be updated by 12:00pm on the 21 April 2026, or as the situation changes.
