Information Minister rejects calls to list Nigeria as a country of concern

Nigeria’s Information Minister Lai Mohammed has denounced calls by several US Republican Senators to have Nigeria redesignated as a Country of Particular Concern (CPC) following abductions and killings of Christians.

The heads of state and representatives from the eight-member countries of the Inter-Governmental Authority on Development (Igad) hold a regional summit, amid rising tensions between Sudan and Ethiopia.
