
Top-level bid to end Ethiopia and Sudan border row
Members of the eight-member countries regional bloc (Igad) meet in Nairobi to thrash out issues on peace and security.
The heads of state and representatives from the eight-member countries of the Inter-Governmental Authority on Development (Igad) have held a regional summit in Kenyan capital, Nairobi. The rising tensions between Sudan and Ethiopia was top of the agenda.
Nigeria’s Information Minister Lai Mohammed has said that people are “largely uninformed” about the state of insecurity in Nigeria and blames “fake news”.
And Uganda’s health ministry has proposed a new law aimed in part at preventing the illicit trade in human organs.
