
West African leaders lift sanctions on Mali
Leaders from the Economic Community of West African States have lifted sanctions imposed on Mali’s military regime.
The heads of state of the Economic Community of West African States (Ecowas) have accepted a proposal by the Malian military to hold elections and return to civilian rule by March 2024 and have lifted economic sanctions.
Ghana turns to the the IMF for assistance, after previously stating it could resolve its economic crisis without the help of the international body.
And Senegalese rapper Oumy Gueye, also known as OMG, on empowering young women through her music.
