More from Matteo Arnaldi, speaking on Court Philippe-Chatrier: "I am tired, that is for sure. I am tired, but I train to play this kind of tournament and this kind of match. I am trying to give it all that I have got. Today I was a little bit more tired than usual. I am here and I am enjoying playing tennis again. I was injured not long ago.

"I still can't believe it [that he is in the semi-finals] when I think about where I was a month ago. I was almost 150th in the world. Now I am here - it is crazy to think. I love to play in front of this crowd and I am happy to be here."

On the semi-final against Flavio Cobolli: "We are going to spend a lot of time together. We always try to train together and stay together around the tennis. It is going to be a fun one. Hopefully, it is going to be a good fight and a good match to watch as well."

Matteo Arnaldi, speaking on Court Philippe-Chatrier: "It is a tough one. We both played a lot, so it is normal to be not at our best, but you never wish for someone to end the tournament like this.

"He did an amazing tournament. We are doing such a good job in Italy. I am sorry for him and I hope he recovers because soon it is the grass, and he is going to be very tough to play."

Arnaldi will play another Italian, Flavio Cobolli, in the semi-finals on Friday.

Unfortunately, injuries have robbed him of some of his prime years and you just hope he can have an injury-free spell in which he can fulfil the potential he clearly had back then.

Matteo Berrettini chases down a ball along the baseline and pulls up, before grabbing onto the advertising boards around the court.

It's a hold of serve for Matteo Arnaldi but I wouldn't be surprised if there's a handshake between the players soon. Berrettini looks crestfallen.
