Sally Nugent travels to Fifa's Zurich headquarters ahead of the 2018 World Cup to meet the association's first ever female secretary general, Fatma Samoura.
Football has long been a sport run by men, but Fatma Samoura is changing that. Sally Nugent travels to Fifa's Zurich headquarters ahead of the 2018 World Cup to meet the association's first ever female secretary general. In an exclusive interview as part of the BBC's 100 Women, Sally finds out how the Senegalese humanitarian rose to the second most powerful position in international football and how she aims to develop the women's game. She also asks Samoura how she is tackling the corruption scandal that has rocked Fifa in recent years. As the 2018 World Cup fast approaches Sally follows preparations for the tournament in Russia, and for the vote on the 2026 World Cup hosts.
