England head coach Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that midfielder Elliot Anderson is expected to complete his £116million move from Nottingham Forest to Manchester City before England's World Cup last-32 tie on Wednesday.

The Premier League clubs have agreed a deal for Anderson to move to Etihad Stadium once the 23-year-old completes a medical which will take place out in the United States.

"I think there is a very high chance that the thing is sorted before the round of 32," said Tuchel.

"It is very impressive the way he trains and plays and carries himself. He is still young and quite new to our national team and he just plays like he owns the place and is always there."

We asked for your views on who Nottingham Forest should bring in to replace the Manchester City-bound Elliot Anderson. The club are currently linked with Tottenham's Lucas Bergvall and Inter Milan's Davide Frattesi.

Here are some of your comments:

Andrew: Definitely not Bergvall because he is totally unproven. Let's give James McAtee a chance. The more pressing problem is needing a proven goalscorer.

Scott: Leave Frattesi well alone. He can't get in the Inter Milan side and isn't that keen on Forest, so that's a red flag for me. Bergvall is probably the more promising one - only 20 and could be nurtured the same as Anderson was.

Mario: I would buy Anthony Elanga back from Newcastle United. We have enough with Morgan Gibbs-White and Ibrahim Sangare - then hopefully Callum Hudson-Odoi will get some form back and we can work on McAtee?

Anthony: Losing Anderson was inevitable. The Scotland midfielder Lewis Ferguson looks like a second Anderson to me, and being the same sort of player would slot straight in for a fraction of what Forest will get for Anderson.

Ken: Should have got the replacement before agreeing to sell. Now, the likes of Spurs and Inter will up their prices for Bergvall and Frattesi by £20m or more. Are they good enough? God knows. We have no recruitment team - they've all gone! Thanks to the owner, chaos rules again. We should be in for the likes of Sandro Tonali and James Garner.

Mickey: I don't understand the interest in Frattesi. He started three games last season in Serie A. Bergvall has loads of potential and needs to be in the right environment, which Forest could offer him. Hopefully Forest have other cards up their sleeve because Anderson will be very hard to replace.

David: I don't think we can replace the "Geordie Maradona" genius of Elliot so we should look for a player who accepts the ball from the back and passes it forwards. We will have to rely on Gibbs-White and others for the beautiful touches. I hope McAtee gets a good run and proves we can make progress without Anderson.

  3. How do Forest replace Anderson?published at 08:14 BST 26 June

Manchester City have agreed a deal with Nottingham Forest to sign Elliot Anderson for a club record £116m.

The England midfielder is set to have a medical before completing his move to Etihad Stadium.

City sources insist the fee for Anderson is £116m, which would be a club record, with no bonuses attached. Other sources claim the deal is worth up to £130m, which would represent a British record fee, eclipsing the £125m Liverpool paid Newcastle for striker Alexander Isak last summer.

Forest are now expected to sign two midfielders this summer and are interested in Tottenham's Lucas Bergvall, and Davide Frattesi of Inter Milan.

Would you be happy with these recruits? Or do you have any other players you would like to see replace Anderson?
