Science and Protection
The manufacture of manmade fibres and materials through large scale chemical engineering has led to the creation of products which protect many from serious injury or death.
Bullet Proof Fabrics
Chemical engineering in the 20th century led to the development of a range of man-made fibres. One of these is now synonymous with bullet proof jackets, but it has many other uses across a range of industries. Invented by a female scientist in the 1960s it is now manufactured in Northern Ireland and exported from there all over the world.
