1. You are asked to invent and describe the last episode of Westway, in up to 400 words.
2. The submission must be the original work of the person or persons submitting it and must not have previously appeared in any other broadcast or published material. 3. You may make no more than two submissions. 4. The submission must be written in English. We do not have the facility to offer a translation service. 5. Submissions must comprise the idea and the full contact details of the entrant: name, address, and, if possible, telephone number and email address. Each entrant will receive a photocard of the Westway cast, acknowledging their participation in the End of Westway competition, 2005, and a Westway pen. No further correspondence can or will be entered into. 6. The idea entered in the competition must not, at the time it is submitted, be offered for publication or broadcasting in any other form or medium, and competitors will be deemed to have entered into an undertaking not to accept offers for their entries from other broadcasters or publishers before 31 December 2005. 7. The decision of the judging panel is final and incontestable. 8. No materials will be returned by the BBC. 9. In respect of the winning entry, subject to a satisfactory recording being made, the name of the creator of the winning idea will be used in the final episode. The winner will receive a wind-up radio, together with a copy of the final script signed by the writer, producer and cast. 11. In respect of all entries, the entering of any idea shall constitute a grant to the BBC of publication rights for the Westway website with no fee payable. 12. The BBC reserves the right to withhold prizes in whole or in part if, in the opinion of the judges, the standard of entries so warrants. 13. It is a condition of entry that entrants warrant that their work contains no defamatory matter (provided, however, that they shall not be liable for any defamatory matter which in the opinion of the BBC was included in the submission without negligence or malice on their part), also that it does not contain any quotation from copyright material without appropriate permission having been obtained. 14. All entries must reach us in London by 17 June 2005. No exceptions will be made. 15. Shortlisted ideas will be posted on the Westway website in July, 2005. The announcement of the winning idea will be made on the Westway website on 15th July 2005. Please return your completed episode description to: Westway, Bush House, London, United Kingdom
