The new deputy leader of Worcestershire County Council says the political debate has become 'nasty', hitting out after he was abused on social media. Councillor Adam Kent was suspended by the Conservative Party last week after he struck a now-abandoned deal to share power with the Greens, Lib Dems and independents at Worcestershire County Council. He said he had received lots of support from people, praising him for trying to separate Westminster politics from local politics, but also some abuse, which had been viewed thousands of times. The incident comes days after Labour Councillor Richard Udall revealed death threats made against him and his dog on social media. He says he has taken police advice on these messages. Tom Edwards reports. Worcestershire County Council, told the BBC it is aware of the social media post and have passed the matter onto West Mercia Police.
