Loving Others

Prayer for the Day

Available for 29 days

Prayer for the Day presented by Rumbi Tauro. Good morning, Loving others sounds like something that should come naturally. It seems simple: be kind, be patient, show care. But in reality, it can be one of the most challenging things to live out consistently. There are moments when loving others feels easy, when people are kind, supportive, and understanding. But there are also times when it’s not so simple, when misunderstandings happen, emotions run high, or we feel hurt, overlooked, or frustrated. I’ve come to realise that in those moments, love becomes a choice rather than just a feeling. It’s choosing patience when it would be easier to react. It’s choosing grace when we feel wronged. It’s choosing to see people beyond a single moment or mistake. In John 13:34, it says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” What stands out to me is the standard of that love, “as I have loved you.” That is a deep, selfless, unconditional kind of love. It’s not based on how others treat us, but on how we have been loved first, and that challenges me. It means loving beyond convenience and comfort. Loving with patience, forgiveness, and compassion, even when it’s difficult. I’m learning that loving others isn’t about getting it right every time, but about being willing to try again. So today, I want to be more intentional, to slow down, respond with love, and reflect the love that has been shown to me. Dear God, thank you for loving me unconditionally. Help me grow daily in patience, grace, and understanding. Help me to love others the same way, showing kindness and compassion in every situation. Amen.
