South Africa's Winnie Mandela Has Died, Aged 81

Winnie Mandela, ex-wife of the late Nelson Mandela, was known to many as the mother of the nation but she was also a controversial figure in South Africa. A family statement said she died peacefully after a long illness, surrounded by her family.
