I'm competing in the 'brickie Olympics'
A bricklayer from Shrewsbury says he is dreaming of winning gold as he prepares to represent Team UK at an Olympics-style event that tests the skills of young tradespeople. Joe Shingler, a Shrewsbury College apprentice, has been selected to take part in Worldskills in Shanghai after winning regional and national competitions to qualify. The event pits 1,500 young people from more than 80 countries against each other with those competing
finding out what they are required to build on the day of competition, with points docked for every millimetre they are away from perfection.
"I love how it just pushes you", Joe told BBC Radio Shropshire's Mark Elliott.
