The Thames Path at 30
The final section of the 184 mile route was completed in July 1996.
It's 184 miles long, takes in quiet countryside, rural villages, historic towns and well known monuments. The Thames Path, which starts at the rivers source in Gloucestershire, and ends at the Thames Barrier in Woolwich, is 30 years old this year.
The birthday is being marked with celebrations and events along the route, and also 30 poems inspired by locations from the source to the sea.
