England performance 'irrelevant' against France - Wright
Former England international footballer Ian Wright says England players’ performance in the friendly against France on Tuesday is irrelevant in the wake of the Paris attacks.
Speaking to Today sports presenter Rob Bonnet, he said the teams would be playing in a “strange atmosphere” and questioned whether the game should have gone ahead – despite being part of the ITV commentary team.
“What are you going to say about a player that doesn’t play that well tonight?” he said.
“Tonight it’s going to be really hard to analyse them.”
