Exeter 15
The red and blue teams shop for bargains at an antiques fair in Devon while Christina Trevanion goes on the trail of scientific treasures near Swindon.
Imagine a warehouse bigger than a football pitch, full of some of science’s most important items. Near Swindon, Christina Trevanion visits the Science and Innovation Park to see some of the 400,000 objects stored there on behalf of England’s science museums. Among the most treasured items are personal possessions from the office of the late Professor Stephen Hawking, including a wheelchair, his specially adapted glasses and a figurine of his Simpsons character.
Hoping for a breakthrough of their own are two teams of friends and colleagues browsing a bustling antiques fair in Exeter. In red are Vickie and Hannah, activities coordinators at the same care home, who watch the show every day with their residents! In blue are palliative care nurses Lindsay and Sarah, who both admit to being mad about dogs.
With expert Ben Cooper in tow, the reds steer a course for a ship’s wheel, but Captain Cooper isn’t impressed with the high price. The blues alongside Gary Pe are true to their word, sidetracked by an art-deco-style dog statue and then distracted by the real thing in the arms of its owner!
