Scottish Country Dancing, Wildlife Photography and David Radcliffe MBE
Scottish country dancing, wildlife photography and David Radcliffe MBE.
Helen Mark MBE presents BBC Radio Ulster’s weekly Ulster-Scots magazine this week alongside Rab Lennox, Jonnie Crawford and Willie Hill.
Helen documents an evening she spent with her dancing shoes on at The Europa Hotel in Belfast for the 80th Anniversary of the Belfast Branch of Royal Scottish Country Dance Society. It was a celebration that drew in folk from near and far – and of all ages! Helen caught up with two nonagenarians, young twins, a solo visitor from Germany and a dancer over from Canada - amongst many others! Jonnie chat's with his former primary school teacher - David Radcliffe - now David Radcliffe MBE after receiving an honour for his contribution to teaching and community while overcoming some incredible challenges. Meanwhile Willie spends time with friend of the show Matthew Warwick to hear about his passion for wildlife photography. Listen out for some of the unique Ulster-Scots words for various birds!
As always, listeners are invited to contact the programme with a good Ulster-Scots yarn or event to talk about. The easiest way to do that is by email – helen.mark@bbc.co.uk
