Alyn Shipton presents jazz records of all styles as requested by you.
Alyn will be marking landmarks in jazz history on this edition of Jazz Record Requests and looking at some defining moments on stage, on record and on air. We'll be celebrating 50 years of Australia’s Jazztrack with trumpeter James Morrison and there’s also a focus on significant recordings, both old and new - including a rare 1965 performance from the Bill Evans Trio.
Anniversaries in British jazz will be marked as well, with Humphrey Lyttelton’s post-war band and George Lewis’s New Orleans recordings. Plus, there will be contemporary music from Heidi Martin and a classic club recording from Herbie Mann.
