The Trunk Of Funk heads to Paris with Tiwayo taking over the controls. After a spell at Blue Note he’s now with the Italian label Record Kicks, teaming up with Adrian Quesada from Black Pumas for the album “Outsider” which is already shaping up to be one of the essential albums of 2026.

The Funk Family Tree heads back to New York, where Latin soul and boogaloo were giving way to something tougher and dirtier: street funk. With James Brown ruling Harlem’s Apollo, the city was beginning to find a whole new groove.

Our 1976 Funk & Soul Gold album is Bobby Womack & Brotherhood – ‘Home Is Where The Heart Is’.
