Hope Support Services

Hope supports children and young people aged 5 to 25 across the UK, when a loved one is seriously ill. They provide one-to-one support both online and in-person, and youth groups, activity days, trips and family days.

Liberty’s story

Liberty’s story
Liberty was 15 when her older sister India was diagnosed with a brain tumour, from which she sadly died. During India’s illness, Liberty joined a Hope youth trip to Tanzania where she witnessed a baby being born, which changed the course of her life.

Liberty today

Liberty today
Today, in part thanks to that Hope group trip to Tanzania, Liberty is a midwife, pictured here on a recent trip back to Africa. She says Hope is an essential refuge for young people experiencing life changing loss, and helped her to feel heard.

A Hope Family Day activity at a local wildlife park
Most of Hope’s trips are closer to home, such as this one to a local wildlife park. Hope’s group activities provide an opportunity for children and young people to make new friends and begin to talk about their feelings and experiences.
