Tearing around the stalls of a bustling antiques fair in Exeter are two teams of parents and their daughters. Can experts Ben Cooper and Gary Pe help to keep the peace?
Christina Trevanion buckles up in a vintage American muscle car to take a spin around one of Britain’s fastest racetracks. At 1.85 miles long, Castle Combe in Wiltshire is a popular circuit for vintage racing cars and has hosted some of the world’s motor racing greats. Christina rides shotgun with noise-monitoring officer Dave Hensley to learn about the history of the track and why drivers need to have their wits about them as they navigate its hair-raising straights and bends.
Motoring around an antiques fair in Devon are two teams of families. In red are dad and daughter Alan and Maisie, guided by antiques expert Ben Cooper. Their opponents in blue are mum and daughter Denise and Amy, with expert Gary Pe. Alan kicks off the reds’ shop by picking out a contemporary glass vase, but Ben doesn’t see a profit in it. Meanwhile, a pair of miniature wooden doll's chairs catch Denise’s eye, but does Gary think they’ll bring a big return?
Down the road from Castle Combe, auctioneer Tim Weeks gives Christina his estimates of the teams’ items. One bonus buy particularly impresses Tim, but will it fulfil its auction potential?
