Joe Bonamassa in Session

Cerys's weekly round-up of the blues you need to hear, from all around the world and in all shapes and sizes!

This week Cerys brings you blues titan Joe Bonamassa live in session from the legendary BBC Maida Vale Studios! The celebrated and award-winning blues rock guitarist and singer-songwriter will perform three tracks with his stellar band. Joe has topped the Billboard Blues Album charts twenty nine times, more than any other artist in history. At the age of twelve, Joe opened for BB King who became his mentor. Last year Joe marked what would have been BB King's 100th anniversary by creating a tribute album with guest appearances from the likes of Chaka Khan, Bobby Rush, Buddy Guy, Keb' Mo', Christone 'Kingfish' Ingram and Joanne Shaw Taylor.

Later this summer Joe will be releasing the recording of his concert celebrating the late Rory Gallagher and his legacy: The Spirit Of Rory Live From Cork.
