Gerry Anderson and Stephen Nolan make a "Dash for Cash" across Northern Ireland
BBC Northern Ireland presenters Gerry Anderson and Stephen Nolan will be joining forces with Pudsey Bear in a "Dash for Cash" across Northern Ireland this week all in aid of this year's BBC Children In Need appeal. The dynamic duo will be heading out across Northern Ireland in a two-day dash, in which they hope to raise lots of money for the charity along the way. Stephen Nolan hits the road tomorrow, Thursday 23 October, stopping off with Pudsey Bear in the following locations: Victoria Square, Belfast, 11.15am-12.15pm Fairhill Shopping Centre, Ballymena, 2.15-3.00pm
Meadowlane Shopping Centre, Magherafelt, 4.15-5.00pm
Rushmere Shopping Centre, Craigavon, 6.30-7.30pm. On Friday 24 October, Gerry Anderson takes to the road with Pudsey Bear calling in at: Foyleside Shopping Centre, Londonderry, 12.30-1.00pm
Asda, Omagh, 3.30-4.30pm Boots, Enniskillen, 5.00-5.30pm The Outlet at Bridgewater Park, Banbridge, 7.30-8.00pm. Please note: these times are approximate to allow travelling times between each location. Both Stephen and Gerry would love to meet up with local fundraisers at each of the locations. TV cameras will be following the pair, who will be hoping to raise as much money as possible for this year's BBC Children In Need appeal on Friday 14 November 2008. Highlights from their Dash for Cash will be shown during the live appeal programme on BBC One Northern Ireland, when the overall winner of the dash will be revealed. Last year on the night, locally, BBC Children In Need raised £606,399 from pledges and donations, part of the UK total of £19,089,771 which grew to a final total of over £37million. In Northern Ireland this year, a total of £3.2million in grants was distributed to 284 groups and organisations working with disadvantaged children and young people.
