Radio 5 Live's 606 phone-in on television: screen shot of the programme in trial

Tim Lovejoy takes Radio 5 Live's 606 phone-in to television

The iconic BBC Radio 5 Live football phone-in 606, hosted on Wednesdays by Tim Lovejoy, moves onto a new platform this week as the show makes its debut on interactive television.

Digital television viewers can view the programme by pressing the red button and see Tim Lovejoy presenting the show as well as texts from listeners, league tables, news and sport updates and other information.

Radio 5 Live already carries certain Barclays Premier League commentaries via the BBC red button in its interactive update Score, which attracted over 300,000 viewers in its launch week to its commentaries and rolling information.

As well as being the biggest football phone-in show on radio, 606 is host to one of the biggest online football communities in the UK with the BBC's most visited messageboard at bbc.co.uk/606.

Tim Lovejoy, who found fame fronting Sky's anarchic Soccer AM show, has presented the Wednesday edition of 606 since the start of the football season on 5 Live.

He said of his new venture: "I'll have to dress properly to make my 606 telly debut but it's still the same anger, passions, misery and joys as every week only with pictures and texts!"
