Phil Tickle, Jon's younger twin brother has been talking to BBCi's Rachel Binns about Jon's penchant for the letter 'p' and why he thinks he will win over the public. What do you think was going through Jon's mind when he reeled off all those words he'd learnt in physics beginning with 'p'? Cameron and Jon were pedalling their pedalo together and in order to pass the time they made up a game where they were doing an interesting unknown fact beginning with each the letter of the alphabet. They were taking it in turns and one of Jon's was 'p' and so he decided to think of unknown physics words beginning with 'p'. Jon's the one in there with character. He is an individual, he is unique and I think the public have picked up on that.

Which is quite an unusual choice? [Laughs] Yes, well he's a physics graduate and he'll retreat to safe ground if he can't think of anything! Is it true he sent his friends a 2,000-word e-mail about the fact that he was about to go on Big Brother? Yes. He was very concerned about the impact of him being in the house would have on his friends and family. Certainly from a personal point of view I'd almost had to put my life on hold to deal with the media interest. He wanted everyone to know why he did it and how he got there. He wants to make sure his mates were going to be okay while he was in there and he couldn't look after them. Do you think that that's a trait a lot of people don't realise he has - that he's quite caring? I can't see a problem with him going to the diary room. It's there for people to use if they want.

Completely caring. One of Jon's strongest assets is that he makes and keeps a really quite large group of very loyal friends. He's loyal to them and they're very loyal to him. He's very caring about the people around him. You've seen a bit of that in the house - he does argue with Big Brother to get improvements for the rest of the housemates. Do you think that the other housemates will warm to him more and more or do you think that his trips to the diary room will wind them up even more? I can't see a problem with him going to the diary room. It's there for people to use if they want. As the numbers dwindle, people have got to get to know Jon better and better. If he relaxes more inside the house they'll come to like him. Housemate Justine is also up for eviction |
What do you think is likely to happen on Friday? Do you think he's going to be evicted or do you think that the people inside the house versus the public are two very different things? I think there's definitely two different sides to this story. I'm really sad that it's Justine up against Jon this week. I was hoping it might be someone else because I get on really well with Justine's sister and her half-brother. So it's really unfortunate. But I think that Jon's getting a ground swell of public opinion in his favour. I think he'll stay in this week which is sad that Justine's got to go. I just wish it was someone else!
