La formation
professionnelle continue, lifelong vocational training, was established by the Act of 16 July 1971.
This gives any employee the
right to take time off work to follow a training
programme, without breaking their contract of employment.
This policy is financed
both by the government and by the employers themselves, who can offset part of the cost against tax.
