Most French firms have information, dissemination and decision-making meetings
on a regular basis. The meetings tend to be formal, with a prepared agenda
l'ordre du jour. For major meetings, such as the board meeting, le conseil d'administration, a
notice, une lettre de convocation, is sent to all
members. Apologies for absence are usually made in writing.
Over the last few decades,
much importance has been given to good internal communications, so that ideas
not only filter down the company ladder but also move upwards from below. At
the top of a typical company structure, you'll findle
président directeur général (orp.d.g.) assisted
by his or her directeur. Then come
le directeur délégué,le directeur
adjoint and le
sous-directeur.
