La Loi Anti-tabac, the no-smoking law, was applied
on 1 November 1992: it is forbidden to smoke on work premises and offenders can
be prosecuted.
This law has been difficult to apply and company managers have
had to provide special accommodation for workers who want to smoke during
their free time.
