 | | | | COURTYARD COMEDY CLUB | | There are two comedy night at The Courtyard this December:
The first is on Friday the 3rd December.
Topping the bill is Quincy, who is, by his own admission, not someone you would want to meet down a dark alley.
But, as he points out, if you are hanging around dark alleys looking for a large black man, he would rather not meet you either.
His material covers the horrors of being a single father, the possibility of a black James Bond demanding weed instead of vodka martini and his love of breasts that slap you back.
Also on the bill is Alistair Barrie who's material covesr all bases from Michael Jacksons take on the war in Kosovo to the English inability to deal with the weather.
The Christmas special is on the 17th of December and stars Harry Denford, who's a Saarf London Geezer.
He'll take the audience to his world of stone cladding, gold sovereigns and ownership of a holiday caravan in Essex is real class.
Also on the bill is Jack Russell, whose stream of consciousness observations cover all topics from dog passports to the Glastonbury Festival. | | | MARRS BAR COMEDY ZONE | | The Marrs Bar comedy zone opens its doors again on the 2nd of December.
On the bill this month are Steve Hughes, Howard Read & Harriet Bowden.
Steve Hughes is an Auzzie drummer turned comedian.
After ten years rehearsing, recording and touring - all from sitting behind the drum kit, he decided to walk around the front of the kit, and talk to the audience... then he decided to try it without the band... he was a comic!Howard Read's loveable, mildly absurd amblings cover subjects from refuse collection and the elderly, to God, sex, probably death in there somewhere, and the hunting techniques of the Polar Bear.
According to Time Out Harriet Bowden is 'gorgeously gifted... the Morticia of the comedy circuit winding her way through her deliciously dark humour. |
