What are the different types of questions?
Questions are sentences that are asking for information. They always start with a capital letter and end with a question mark.

There are lots of different question words. Each one helps you find out a different kind of information.
There are five common question words that start with the digraph 'wh'.

| what | to find out about a thing or an event |
| where | to find out about a place |
| why | to find the reason |
| when | to find out about a time |
There are also other question words that start with different letters.

You can add other words after ‘how’ to make new question phrases.
How far away is the jungle?
How many times have you visited?
Think about what questions you might ask Charlie using the question word 'how'.

Example 2
For some questions that you ask, you may only want a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ answer.
