North Devon is a large area, with a lot of scenic coastline, and many miles of country lanes.The terrain can be hilly in places, but there are some fine valley routes. The Tarka trail cycle route now runs from near Braunton down through Barnstaple following the old railway line towards Hatherleigh.
Much of the coast is footpath, and should be left to the walkers.
